 Danube Delta National Institute For Research & Development (DDNITL-RO), Romania

Danube Delta National Institute for Research & Development was established in 1970 (as Danube Delta Institute for Research and Design), in 1999 became national institute and since 2009 is subunit of the National Institute for Research and Development for the Environmental Protection.

The Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development carries out fundamental and applied research activities on ecology and environmental protection. The main aim of the studies focused on underpinning management of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve and other wetlands of national and international importance with scientific know-how on biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.

DDNI has vast experience in field surveys of large surface aquatic systems and sediment for chemical analysis.

In the framework of the project BLACK SEA e-EYE, DDNI mainly contribute towards the analysis of main physical-chemical and biological indicators related to the quality of surface aquatic systems in Danube Delta, investigation of correlation between determined present and historical pollution and the quality of marine costal ecosystems and impact assessment quantification and synergies between different pollution sources identified in the North Western Black Sea Basin.
